From across the pond

We get all kinds of visitors who stop by to see us. We have our share of locals who frequent the shop and the occasional out of state guest. We seldom get visitors from other countries though, and when we do they usually don’t bring their hot rods with them. That was not the case when we received a visit  recently by Wade Pilkington from the UK. He not only stopped in for a shop tour but drove his hot rod here as well. He owns a very cool vintage British Ford Perfect with a Rover (Buick) aluminum V8 in it. It was an absolute honor to meet Wade and pleasure looking at his car. I look forward to him revisiting us again next year when he comes back to the States. Be sure to check out the pics of Wade’s super cool Ford Perfect.

Unicorns! Yup they do exist. You’re looking at one. This is a numbers matching, fuel injected, radio delete 1963 split window Corvette. A true barn find. Seriously! The car was found by it’s current owner preserved, in a barn, where it has sat stripped to bare fiberglass since 1977. We are getting the body prepped and ready to paint at this time. Once the body is worked and smoothed we’ll be laying down the factory Sebring Silver back on this fabled creature.

This 1932 Ford Roadster was a collaborative project between Lo-Man Rods and Don’s Hot Rods. The car belongs to and was built by Don Pilkenton owner of Don’s Hot Rods, and it was brought to us for body, paint, and some assembly. Don chose a Harley Davidson blue that was originally a gloss finish, once the satin clear finish went over it the color really popped. Below are photos of the car after it was partially assembled and being loaded to head back to Don’s Shop.
